About Suanne

What legal issues do your clients typically face?

My clients are West Michigan families that are looking to navigate separation, divorce and co-parenting. I represent and mediate all matters relating to divorce including custody, complex business assets, support, parenting time, adoption, guardianship, paternity and prenuptial agreements.

What sets you apart from other lawyers in your practice field?

Formerly a litigator and public sector attorney, I advocate for my clients by providing patient negotiation techniques and a thorough understanding of how domestic law is interpreted in the West Michigan Courts. A certified mediator, my negotiation skills and practice philosophy is well respected in the legal community among judges and other attorneys. I utilize all my skills and resources to empower my clients and move them beyond the stressful and emotionally charged situation.

How do any of your community interests or activities facilitate how you represent your client?

I am a former board member and continued supporter of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Kent County. This organization advocates for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. My commitment to serve and assist West Michigan families in difficult circumstances directly correlates to how I work with my clients. I address each child’s unique circumstance with sensitivity and serve to identify the best possible outcome in a very complicated and emotional situation.
