Robert J. Dugan
Mr. Dugan's practice focuses on real estate transactions, corporate and business law, municipal law, estate planning and probate. He has represented clients in commercial real estate development projects, condominium, site condominium and plat developments, commercial and industrial leases negotiations, zoning disputes and commercial loan transactions.
Mr. Dugan also has extensive experience in representing health care professionals. He has been an attorney for the Alliance of Health (formerly West Michigan Systems Agency) for over 20 years and, for many years, has served as chair of the Alliance's Evaluation Commitee which reviews applications for Certificate of Need. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Health.
Mr. Dugan has served on the board of directors of numerous charitable organizations, and has served as a Trustee, Treasurer, and President of the Grand Rapids Bar Association. In 1996, Mr. Dugan received the Distinguished Service Award from the Grand Rapids Bar Association for expectional service to that organization.
Mr. Dugan is a paraplegic
who uses a wheelchair for mobility and is well versed
in disability rights issues.
He is admitted to Michigan Bar and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Also, he is admitted to practice before the Untied States Tax Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He recieved his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1968 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1971.
