Robert C. Rutgers, Jr.
Mr. Rutgers is a shareholder of the firm and a member of the Business Law, Health Care and Litigation practices groups. His primary area of practice is business law representation with an emphasis in the areas of manufacturing, the service industry, physician groups and other health care providers. His experience includes business formation and aquisition, drafting of sophisticated commercial agreements, privacy and information exchange issues, and compliance related matters. He also handles compex commercial litigation disputes, as well as family law matters.
He served as trial counsel in various state and federal courts, handling matters throughout the state of Michigan. He is also experienced in various forms of alternative dispute resolution disputes, including facilitative mediation and arbitration.
Bob is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and various sections, including the Business Law Section. He is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, a Life Member of the Justice Foundation of West Michigan, and a member of the Federal Bar Association of Western Michigan, the American Bar Association, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Bob is also a licensed real estate broker.
He graduated from Hope College in 1989, earning a B.A. Economics degree. He received his law degree from Marquette University in 1992.
