Allison is an experienced litigator and has practiced in both the state and federal courts in Michigan. She currently practices in general civil litigation, including family law, commercial, landlord and tenant, creditor’s rights, tax law, and intellectual property matters. Allison also has extensive experience in protecting and reclaiming intellectual property rights in trademarks, websites, and social media networks. She also frequently assists clients in obtaining payments in complex collection efforts against debtors for money judgments, child support arrearages, spousal support arrearages, and property settlements.
Allison has gained extensive knowledge in the matrimonial and family law arena since joining the firm in 2009. She has recently contributed to published works in the Michigan Family Law Journal related to electronic privacy and stock option issues in divorce litigation. While adept at negotiating successful resolutions to complex litigation matters, Allison is equally proficient in effective trial advocacy handling all aspects of litigation through and including numerous hearings and trials.
Prior to joining the firm, Allison completed notable clerkships in the federal courts with the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable Rebecca R. Pallmeyer of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In law school, Allison was honored with full membership status in the Moot Court Honor Society as a first year law student and contributed to the Valparaiso University Law Review as both an editor and note writer. Allison’s published work discussed the history of Internet regulations and explored the concept of social media law, particularly as it relates to defamation on the Internet.
