About Will

How do you help businesses and individuals?

I represent client’s interests in state and federal courts, drafting pleadings and motions, handling trial preparation, and negotiating settlement resolutions. In addition to serving on Rhoades McKee’s Litigation and Agriculture Industry Practice Groups, I am a contributor to Rhoades McKee’s Michigan Business Court Blog.

What skills help you advise the client and achieve the best results or outcomes?

Attention to detail. Passionate advocacy. Creative problem solving. These are the skills I apply to each client, each task, and each case.

What case did you find the most rewarding to work on?

I had the privilege to defend a business client and its employees against claims that they had misrepresented costs and features during the sale of an insurance plan. Not only did a fellow attorney and I obtain dismissal of the lawsuit before trial, but the client successfully recovered $40,000 in attorney fees from the opposing party, reducing the client’s out of pocket costs by more than 60%.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a lawyer?

As an attorney, no day is exactly like another. I am constantly facing new challenges, presented with new opportunities, and celebrating new victories. Put succinctly: there is no “typical day” as a lawyer, and that is just how I like it.

Prior to law school, Will worked in Washington, D.C. as a high school civics educator and as the legislative assistant and advocacy specialist for a national non-profit dedicated to lung cancer awareness and patient advocacy.
