Rhoades McKee is pleased to announce that Catherine Brained has been named as Chair of the Employment Law Practice Team. As Chair, Brainerd is responsible for guiding practice development growth and overseeing the delivery of employment legal services to businesses and non- profit organizations.
Brainerd helps West Michigan organizations navigate their relationship with their employees and guide them through the state, federal regulatory maze that governs employment relationships. As a counselor and litigator, Brainerd is able to advise clients with best practices to comply with regulations and assist to develop strategies that also increase employee engagement and minimize conflict. However, when an employment dispute escalates, Brainerd provides her clients with a unique advantage to develop a successful litigation strategy. She is admitted to the U.S. Federal District Court, Western District of Michigan and tried numerous employment cases at the state and district levels.
Brainerd’s practice also includes litigation in the areas of probate and real estate.
As a lawyer experienced in all aspects of employment law, Brainerd Chairs the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Human Resource Committee. As a leader, she has implemented diversity and inclusion training programs as well as other educational programming and resources. Brainerd is a board member of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Western Region, and a member of the Employment, Probate, Real Estate and Litigation Sections of the Grand Rapids and State Bar Associations.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University and her law degree from the Wayne State University Law School.More News Posts
