Mark has represented numerous physicians in professional liability actions, including those engaged in emergency medicine, family practice, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, internal medicine, neurology, anesthesiology, nephrology, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics, pathology, urology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and radiology. He has also represented nursing professionals including midwives and CRNAs.
In addition to representing the medical practitioner, Mark has also served a number of hospital entities and defended claims made against the hospital providers including nurses, residents, interns and technicians.
American Physicians Assurance Corporation has honored Mark with the "Outstanding Defense Attorney Award" in both 2008 and 2006. This award is given annually to an attorney who has demonstrated outstanding service on behalf of physicians with medical liability and with medical liability claims or lawsuits.
Mark has served as a director or trustee of numerous bar related and other not for profit organizations including the Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids, Junior Achievement, Camp Fire Boys and Girls of America and the Kent County Habitat for Humanity, Special Cabinet for Development. He has also served as a Trustee and Chairman of the Admissions Committee for the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
