John M. Lichtenberg
John Lichtenberg is a shareholder at Rhoades McKee and serves as the Chair of the firm’s health care practice group. He has worked with several area hospital systems on physician and affiliate contracting and compliance matters, employment and compensation issues, and he successfully defended one of the area’s largest federal whistleblower retaliation claims.
In addition to working with health care clients on a range of legal matters, he handles a wide range of commercial litigation matters, and has extensive experience and expertise in labor, employment and employee benefit matters. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts throughout Michigan, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1975 with high honors, and received his Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1980. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and of the Health Law and Labor and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
Mr. Lichtenberg is the Vice-Chair of the Pine Rest Foundation and Chair of its Governance Committee. He has served as the Board Chair of Network 180, the public coordinating agency for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services for Kent County, and as Board Chair for the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan.
