(October 30, 2018) Michigan Lawyers Weekly has announced that Jacob Dunlop, a Rhoades McKee Associate, has been named to the 2018 Class of Up and Coming Lawyers.

According to the publication, the annual list is published after careful consideration of attorneys who in their first ten years of practice go above-and-beyond, display the ambition, drive, determination, and accomplishments that set them apart among their peers.

A member of the Rhoades McKee Corporate and Business Service Team, Dunlop counsels clients on business formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, credit facilities and real estate matters.

Anthony Pearson, a shareholder at the firm, recommended Dunlop stating that “Jake daily applies skills, knowledge, and judgment beyond his years to serve West Michigan businesses. He rises to every challenge and provides excellent service to clients with thorough analysis and tireless dedication.”  He continued, “In addition to displaying excellence in the practice of law, Jake is also a leader within our firm; mentoring less-experienced attorneys, honing our standards for practice, and actively leading a team to tackle the challenging issues of diversity and inclusion.”

Jonathan Siebers also added to the nomination including, “Jake plays a critical role in our business practice group. As a senior associate, he takes the lead on many transactions and plays a support role in many other transactions. He arrives early, stays late, and gets deals closed.”  He continued, “Jake is making a name for himself, particularly within the M&A crowd in West Michigan. He is an active member of ACG Western Michigan where he sits on the YP advisory board and membership committee. He is well known among lawyers and other professionals as well as within the entrepreneurial community. I am proud to call Jake my colleague.”

Dunlop is one of only 30 Michigan attorneys who will be recognized at the Awards Luncheon on December 13, 2018 at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, Michigan.

Dunlop serves on the Board of Directors of Wedgwood Christian Services and is a member of the Young Professionals Committee of the Association for Corporate Growth Western Michigan. He is a current member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, and the State Bar of Michigan.

Dunlop earned a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
