Rhoades McKee is pleased to announce that Mary Jane Rhoades has been named a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation.

The Foundation extends fellowship status to lawyers who demonstrate outstanding legal ability and devotion to the community.  Membership is by invitation only and limited each year to a select number of attorneys.  Fellows support the Foundation, which provides leadership and grants to improve access for all to the justice system, including support for civil legal aid to the poor, law-related education and conflict resolution.

Rhoades concentrates her practice in environmental law, helping businesses ranging from publicly-traded organizations to sole proprietors navigate the maze of environmental requirements and issues that affect their operations and transactions. She counsels clients regarding environmental compliance and evaluates and negotiates environmental legal risks in the context of development projects, property transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Her expertise also includes brownfield redevelopment, environmental remediation, and environmental dispute resolution with regulatory agencies.

Her efforts have been recognized by her peers across the state.  She has earned Martindale Hubbell’s AV® Preeminent Rating and has been named as a Leading Lawyer, a Best Lawyer® of America, a Super Lawyer®, and a Best Lawyer® of America Environmental “Lawyer of the Year.”

Rhoades is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.

She is an alumna of Hope College and Valparaiso University School of Law.
