About Stephanie

What types of legal issues do your clients typically face?

I concentrate my practice helping families in Barry County and the surrounding areas navigate life events including divorce, adoption, custody and visitation, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and guardianship/conservatorship. I also provide corporate and real estate counsel to business clients including real estate acquisitions, development, and management. I also serve as a mediator for a wide variety of legal issues.

What skills help you advise the client and achieve the best results or outcomes?

My clients are often experiencing difficult and unpleasant issues in very personal matters. I seek to help them navigate these issues and concerns in a respectful and empathetic manner. My compassion for their well-being extends beyond my legal practice. As a resident of Barry County for over 33 years, I have also engaged in community organizations that offer additional support services for my clients.

How do any of your community interests or activities facilitate how you represent your client?

My community engagement and advocacy for the betterment of families and businesses in Barry County is an natural extension of my practice to fellow residents. A founding member and treasurer of Serenity Village of Barry County, I also served as Past President of the Board of Directors of Green Gables Haven, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse which I helped to establish in 2004 for 19 years and am currently Board Emeritus. As a founding member and current member of the Women’s Giving Circle of Barry County, an organization that brings together women in the area, we seek to support local non-profit organizations.
