Real Estate Paralegal

Rhoades McKee has an exciting new opportunity available for a Real Estate Paralegal. Candidates interested in this role will have the opportunity to assist attorneys on our highly specialized team in representing clients regarding a broad spectrum of real estate matters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with various tasks and provide administrative support on a daily basis for multiple initiatives and projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, and clients’ in-house and outside counsel, other paralegals, title companies, and lender representatives.
  • Maintain closing checklists and generally manage the closing process in conjunction with the attorney team, including organizing and compiling signature pages and recordable documents.
  • Order title commitments, surveys, appraisals, and other due diligence items and track due diligence and related timelines.
  • Draft basic real estate documents, including closing documents, resolutions, certificates, closing instructions, and other closing deliverables.
  • Review, analyze and prepare memorandas regarding surveys and title commitments.
  • Other duties and opportunities as they arise.

Qualifications

Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to successfully manage multiple priorities. Prior real estate experience is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Associate Attorney

Rhoades McKee PC is seeking an Associate Attorney for the Hastings, Michigan office with 2 – 5 years of experience that is licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) and is in good standing to practice law in the State of Michigan. The associate will be exposed to a wide range of practice areas but with an emphasis in family law, probate/trust administration & litigation, and municipal law.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will be expected to interact with clients and the community, be detail-oriented, possess a good work ethic, and have strong interpersonal skills.  Successful candidates will also have litigation experience with resolving custody, parenting time, child support, property division, estate and trust administrations.  This position includes drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, participating in mediation, making court appearances, and participating in evidentiary hearings.

Operations Resource Clerk

Rhoades McKee is looking to fill a full-time Operations Resource Clerk position. No two days will be the same in this exciting role, which will give candidates the ability to work with all members of the firm. Responsibilities for this position revolve around three key areas: central services, facilities, and technology. The person in this role will be a member of our central services team and will be cross-trained to assist in day-to-day central services duties to include file management, covering the front desk, and assisting with projects. This position will also support facilities management to include contacting vendors, managing and restocking supply orders, and maintaining office appearance.  Additionally, we are looking for a technically inclined candidate who can assist with minor technology needs such as setting up/troubleshooting a video conference.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a can-do attitude, be technically inclined, organized, dependable, motivated, and have excellent customer service skills. Previous administrative experience is required, with law firm experience preferred.

Real Estate Legal Assistant

Rhoades McKee is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position will support our Real Estate Practice Group by providing administrative and clerical support to multiple attorneys. Successful candidates will be proficient in creating and editing complex documents, scheduling and billing, legal document preparation, and file management.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of real estate legal assistant experience. This position requires an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask while juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Central Services Records Intern

Are you interested in a career in legal or records management? Our Central Services Records Internship will provide you with real-world experience, a flexible part-time schedule, a paid internship, and the opportunity to participate in firm social events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Index and catalog files
  • Prepare files for digitization
  • Scan and upload files to our digital asset management system (iManage)
  • Metadata creation and standardization
  • Conduct research
  • Apply retention to records/files
  • Assist with workflow development and implementation of best practices
  • Assist with file transfers and closings
  • Provide clerical support to the Central Services department

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have an interest in law, records management, or digital asset management. This position requires motivation, comfortability with handling confidential information, willingness to take on projects, impressive organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment, excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines, along with proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Environmental Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with various tasks and provide administrative support on a daily basis for multiple initiatives and projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, and clients’ in-house and outside counsel, other paralegals, attorneys, regulatory agency staff, and consultants.
  • Coordinate the performance of environmental due diligence assessments and studies with environmental consultants and engineers.
  • Handle administrative communications with third parties, including environmental agencies.
  • Collect data, document findings, and draft comprehensive memoranda as needed.
  • Improve and implement new methods for data collection, content management, organization, contract oversight, and other tasks.
  • Other duties and opportunities as they arise.
